renodivorce-does your band have a website? I'd like to check you guys out on the 16th at the bluebird but I'm not sure I can handle 3 concerts in a row. Fri. night I'm at Dew Action watching that awesome Shaun White skateboard then 30 Seconds To Mars. If there's another night you're playing in Denver that would be cool.
We have an official site but we just direct everyone to My Space since that's where everyone goes anyways.

Ness and Co. pull into Red Rocks at the peak of popularity
By Mark Brown, Rocky Mountain News
July 12, 2006
Here's how it works in rock music: Your albums get worse and worse and your audience dwindles. The end.
Mike Ness of Social Distortion reverses the trend. After scoring early punk-rock anthems like "Bad Luck" and "Ball & Chain," the 1996 album "White Light White Heat White Trash" marked a new maturity in his writing. "I Was Wrong" in particular had a sense of self-awareness and responsibility: "How could someone's bad luck last so long? / Until I realized that I was wrong." Two solo albums, a collaboration with Bruce Springsteen and another Social D disc solidified Ness' growing skills.
After selling out four nights at the Gothic Theatre last year, Social D plays Red Rocks on Saturday, keeping the ticket price low. Popular music critic Mark Brown talked with Ness about success and hairline fractures.
How is it that you're doing so well right now?
"I have no idea. I think we're just a very lucky band, you know? It's a phenomenon, I've got to admit. It's very fulfilling to have that happening at this stage of the career. We're nowhere near ending, but to have this happen - after 26 years we're more popular than ever."
Your newer songs are your best.
"I think so, too. When we recorded White Light White Heat White Trash, I had a producer who really pushed me. It was the first time in my career I had someone challenging me. That was a very valuable lesson, and a lot of artists don't get that lesson. If you've got people telling you you're great, you've got no one to say: 'Hey, pal, keep writing. That song doesn't have what your other songs have.' "
You're smart going to Red Rocks with no big price increase.
"I was blown away that we were doing this. But at the same time, next time we'll probably be back at the Gothic or the Ogden. I just like to mix it up. I don't want to alienate the fans. We're never going to be an arena band, so nobody has to worry about that. We're back with a vengeance."
How did you break your wrist?
"It was pretty brutal. I hadn't been on a skateboard in 30 years and I was showing off in front of my son, downhill skateboarding. I was helping him with his eighth-grade film project. We both went down this hill and I had a camera. We were just going about 30 mph and everything's cool. I turn off the camera and I just jumped off too soon. I broke my wrist in four places. They had to do surgery. A long time on pain medication. But it's healed and I've been rehearsing all week. The guitar is the best thing for it."
How has your family affected your writing?
"A while back I realized I could get inspiration from positive things as well. Obviously the family is one of the most positive things. But it's still hard. Summer's just starting and I gotta leave. I still haven't quite found that balance yet."
How has your Web site helped your fan base grow?
"It has helped a lot. In the old days, you had to rely on fanzines and newspaper articles. Word of mouth is still our best thing. There are kids who are coming whose older brother or sister grew up with us, or cousins or whatever. It's another generation to grow up with our music."
You once said you regret your tattoos - that what's inside is more important than outside.
"We were doing them more for antisocial reasons. Nowadays, it seems like kids are doing it to be accepted or cool. It's hard when something like that gets popular. You wanna just kind of recoil from it. Just because you've got a lot of tattoos doesn't mean we have anything in common. There's more to a person than their appearance."
RIGHT ON!! I especially liked that last paragraph.
I'm leaving after work today from Dallas Texas to see the Red Rocks show. Looking forward to it, see you guys there!
